OXFORD United Women earned a seventh consecutive league win with a 4-1 victory at London Bees.

Jenna Legg netted a brace, while Kate Wiseman and Zoe Barratt also got on the scoresheet.

United started on the front foot, with Barratt sending a half-volley into the sidenetting, before seeing a close-range effort blocked on the line.

The U’s took the lead just after the half hour mark when Barratt drove down the right-hand side and forced a save out of Amber Webber, however the ball fell kindly to Legg, who found the bottom corner.

The visitors extended their lead shortly after, when Wiseman produced a calm finish.

Ten minutes into the second period, United made it 3-0 when Legg was the quickest to react in the box as the ball dropped from a free kick.

The Bees pulled a goal back from a rapid counter-attack which resulted in Tyana Nee-Chambers slotting past Paris Sercombe.

The U’s restored their three-goal lead though, when Legg slid the ball through for Barratt, who rounded the goalkeeper and finished into an empty net with four minutes to go.

United boss Sam Rose said: “We’re pleased to get the three points. We scored four goals, and we’re disappointed not to keep the clean sheet, but we always are.

“We had to be patient with the ball at times, and try and open them up, and break them down, and I think we could’ve done that better, but we won the game, which is important.”

The win lifted the U’s up to third in the Southern Premier Division table. United are eight points shy of league leaders Portsmouth, who they welcome to Court Place Farm on Sunday.
