CAMERON Brannagan says Oxford United must create more chances after the side had to settle for a point at home to Reading.

The U’s could only muster four shots on target against the Royals, and after taking control of the derby clash by heading into the break 1-0 in front, then let slip that authority they had in the first half.

Reading naturally came out with renewed vigour in the second period, as they chased an equaliser.

The visitors found a leveller with 14 minutes to go, when Ciaron Brown converted into his own net after a dangerous cross from substitute Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan.

United midfielder Brannagan said: “I feel like putting my head through a wall, it’s just so disappointing.

“You work hard in a game and they have next to nothing. At 1-0, you always leave yourself vulnerable, and that’s the frustrating thing on our side, because we didn’t create enough chances in the second half.

“We have to be better in the final third and overall in general. We have to take more control of the game when it gets a bit more frantic.

“It’s a bit like table tennis, going back and forth. There’s no control, and at some stage, you’ve got to take a bit of control, and play the game we’re good at, which is moving the ball quick and getting in the right areas.

“We didn’t do that in the second half. It was too frantic and we didn’t create enough to get the second goal, and that’s the most disappointing thing.”
