OXFORD City dropped to third from bottom in the Vanarama National League after defeat at fellow strugglers Hartlepool United.

The hosts scored twice in five minutes, courtesy of Tom Crawford and Joe Grey, before Seydil Toure pulled one back for the Hoops with 13 minutes to go.

Hartlepool went close to scoring just after 10 minutes, when Grey turned inside the box and fired a shot which cannoned back off the crossbar.

The home side took the lead after 56 minutes, when Anthony Mancini saw a shot saved by Jack Bycroft, with Crawford sweeping into the box to find the bottom corner.

Five minutes later, Mancini was again the danger man, with his driving run followed by a shot, which poked underneath Bycroft. Grey followed the ball and had a simple-tap in ahead of the Hoops defence.

Josh Parker hit the post with a 25-yard free kick, before Toure tapped home for the Hoops.

Didcot Town drew 1-1 at Chesham United in Southern League Premier South, while North Leigh moved top of Southern League Central Division after a 1-1 draw at Barton Rovers. Thame United lost 3-0 at Hadley.
