As he edges towards his latest career milestone, Henry, who has netted 107 times for the various clubs he has represented, said: “It’s a really nice achievement. I’m going to touch wood before I put my foot in, but if I can make it to that stage, anyone would say that’s been a good going at it.

“I was happy when I made my 500th appearance here, and when I scored my 100th goal, so to go another 100 on from that, I’ll be proud.”

Henry is well versed in being a footballer during the festive period, and the number of games that come with it.

He said: “We’ve got so many games in such a short period of time, and it’s going to need the whole squad, especially with the boys that we’ve currently got out injured. Everybody’s got to be ready to take their chance when they get it.

“I’m just happy to be back out there and back involved, and part of the team. Hopefully I can continue to stay fit and continue to help the team out.”
