OXFORD United will travel to Sky Bet Championship side Coventry City in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Third round fixtures will take place across the weekend of January 6 and 7.

Mark Robins’ Sky Blues side sit 17th in the second tier, six points above the relegation zone.

Last season, they finished fifth and were a penalty shoot-out away from the Premier League after losing 6-5 on spot kicks against Luton Town in the play-off final.

The U’s have made it to this stage of the competition thanks to 2-0 wins at home to Maidenhead United and Grimsby Town.

Billy Bodin’s brace got United through in the first round, while he struck again yesterday against the Mariners, doubling the lead provided by Marcus McGuane in the first half.

Last year, the U’s beat Woking and Exeter City en route to a glamour tie at home to Arsenal in the third round.

Karl Robinson’s side held out for more than an hour in front of the ITV cameras, however Mohamed Elneny opened the scoring, followed by an Eddie Nketiah double, with all three goals coming in a 13-minute period.
