JAMES Beadle was happy to see goalkeeping coach Lewis Price remain at Oxford United after the exit of Liam Manning and two of his backroom staff.

When Manning departed for Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City earlier this month, he took with him his assistant Chris Hogg and first team coach analyst James Krause.

Price though, who was brought to the U’s by Manning during the summer, has stayed at the club, and Beadle is delighted to continue working with the former Wales stopper.

Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Beadle said: “He’s been really good for me and the goalie group, with me, Easty [Simon Eastwood], Gints [Ed McGinty] and Eddie Brearey.

“To have him stay, I’m really happy with that, so hopefully that carries on.”

Beadle has established himself as a key player for United this season, keeping seven clean sheets across 20 games in all competitions, while his ability on the ball has added a new dimension to the way the U’s play.

Asked what he has improved upon most during his loan stint so far, Beadle responded: “Playing games and how to manage games, and coming for crosses more. It’s being reliable and consistent, I think is the main thing.”
