LUKE Williams says he has had no contact from Oxford United regarding the club’s managerial vacancy.
The Notts County head coach has been heavily linked with United since Liam Manning left for Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City.
Rumours intensified when U’s midfielder Ruben Rodrigues admitted after the 3-2 win against Leyton Orient that he would like to see his former boss Williams at United.
Rodrigues said: “I hope Luke Williams, but I can’t say too much. I can’t say it because I love Notts County.”

Williams though told BBC Nottingham Sport earlier this afternoon: “I heard that our friend Ruben Rodrigues made a comment, and I actually spoke to Ruben.
“The journalist asked Ruben a question immediately after the game and the guys out there have their adrenaline going, and they’re in a certain frame of mind.
“I would say he was probably caught off guard a little bit. He said something after the game that probably sparked more attention.
“I know that I was linked with the job and it’s flattering because they’re a club doing so well.
“I haven’t had any contact, only with Ruben. I’m very happy, I have a wonderful club that I work for and we’re trying to progress.”
