BANBURY United will look to break into the Vanarama National League North play-off places when they make the trip to Hereford tonight.

Simeon Maye scored a stoppage time winner as the Puritans won 2-1 at previous league leaders Tamworth last time out, moving Mark Jones’ side to within a point of the top seven.

The Puritans are looking to make it four away wins on the spin at a Hereford side who sit 17th in the table.

Jones told the Puritans website: “League positions seven to 19 are covered by just three points. I’ve never known a league so tight and teams can go from hero to zero, and vice versa, off the back of one result.

“They were three very important points at Tamworth and a great reward for the players who have come together this season to create a new team, which is now working really hard for each other.

“We saw strength and creativity throughout the field and the players showed immense character.”
