STEVE Kimber, running for Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow, romped to a comprehensive victory in the third round of the 2008 Mota-vation Road Race series at Combe.
The race was led in the early stages by Radley's promising youngster Rhys Glastonbury, closely followed by a pack that included Kimber, Steve Overton (V40), Gary Harris and Wimbledon's Kieren White.
But Kimber broke away around the one-mile mark to cross the line on the 3.9-mile course in 20mins 4secs.
Overton finished second, clocking 20.36, with Harris third.
Glastonbury eventually finished in fifth place, clocking 20.44.
Radley also fielded two new under 17 runners, with George White and Philippe Essink finishing 28th and 33rd respectively.
In the ladies' race, Witney Roadrunner Nikki Smith again led the way, winning in 22.25.
Banbury Harriers' Julie Dixon won the vet 35 category in Jude Craft's absence, but elsewhere, it was business as usual.
Oxford City duo Brian Green and Roy Treadwell won the vet 50 and vet 60 men's races, while Witney's Nicola Gomm and Eynsham's Kate Williamson landed the vet 45 and vet 55 ladies' races.
Consistent packing by Abingdon's men enabled them to move into a series lead, while in the ladies' team standings, Witney narrowed the gap behind Headington.
The next race is at Chipping Norton on August 7, starting at 7.30pm.
