OXFORD United Women earned back-to-back wins after thumping Plymouth Argyle 5-0 at Court Place Farm.

Lucy Hack was shown a second yellow card for the visitors after 25 minutes, with Izzy Cook and Taome Oliver then giving the U’s a 2-0 lead at the break.

Zoe Barratt, Cook and Sarah King sealed the three points in style during the second half.

Prior to Hack’s sending off, Jaime Gotch saw three headed chances fly wide, while Leah Burridge had a curling effort tipped over by Jasmine Read.

United then made use of their player advantage, with Cook rifling past Read at the near post after good work by Lily Stevens.

King then saw a thunderous effort rattle the crossbar and bounce on the line, according to the officials.

Five minutes before half-time, the U’s doubled their lead when Oliver broke forward from left back and was fed by Stevens, to then fire a shot into the bottom corner.

Barratt made it three when she latched onto Kate Wiseman’s through ball and tucked home her sixth goal of the campaign.

Cook then doubled her tally for the day, stealing the ball high up the pitch and slotting home.

King rounded off the scoring in the 67th minute, with an excellent strike arrowed into the top right corner.

The victory lifts United up to sixth in National League Southern Premier, ahead of Sunday’s trip to last season’s title rivals Portsmouth.
