OXFORD City collected their second point of the season as they earned their first clean sheet in Vanarama National League.

The Hoops held Maidenhead United to a goalless draw in their short trip to Berkshire, with chances at a premium.

Ross Jenkins gave Tafari Moore his full City debut, with Aaron Williams-Bushell sidelined through injury.

The bench meanwhile saw a return for influential midfielder Zac McEachran, who has been unavailable after suffering with a virus, while Olly Sanderson returned in time to take a spot among the substitutes.

The striker has rejoined the Hoops on a season-long loan from Premier League side Fulham, after playing an important role in helping the club gain promotion from National League South.

Against Maidenhead, City were given a let-off after half an hour when Chanka Zimba was unable to turn home a Casey Petitt cross from just a couple of yards out.

Five minutes before the break, the Hoops had their best effort on goal in the half when Josh Parker’s fierce effort saw Craig Ross get down low to make a smart stop.

Three successive corners for the hosts saw a Kevin Lokko shot blocked during the second half.

The Hoops face back-to-back games in quick succession, with a home clash against Boreham Wood tomorrow afternoon.
