BANBURY United fell to the bottom of Vanarama National League North after a 3-0 defeat at Scarborough Athletic.

Jonathan Greening’s Scarborough side nudged ahead early when Frank Mulhern tucked away a penalty with just three minutes on the clock.

Shortly before the half hour mark, Mulhern had the chance to double his tally, however he shot wide when through on goal.

Quickfire goals from Curtis Durose and Mulhern during the final 10 minutes of the first half gave the Puritans an almighty gap to bridge in the second period.
