OXFORD City have made their second signing of the summer, snapping up a former Arsenal academy graduate.

Tafari Moore joins from St Albans City – the side the Hoops beat in May’s Vanarama National League South play-off final.

The 26-year-old full back enjoyed a strong season with the Hertfordshire outfit, and was named in the division’s team of the season.

Moore, who can play on either side of the pitch, told the Hoops website: “I’m excited, feeling good and I can’t wait to get started.

“After the season I had, I was hoping to make the next step and to make that next step with this team is a great feeling for me.

“I’m very attacking, I like to get forward and put crosses into the box.

“It’ll be a difficult challenge in the National League. The standard is great but I can’t wait to get going with the boys.”

Moore had loan spells with FC Utrecht in the Netherlands and Wycombe Wanderers while a Gunners player, before permanent moves to Plymouth Argyle, Hendon and St Albans.

He also has international experience, having played for England at various age groups.

Moore started alongside the likes of Liverpool defender Joe Gomez and Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke – at the time with Charlton Athletic and Chelsea respectively – as England lifted the European Under-17 Championships in 2014.

Former Oxford United players Jonjoe Kenny and Ryan Ledson were also in the side that beat Holland on penalties.

Moore’s performances earned him a place in the team of the tournament, alongside Gomez, Kenny and Ledson, plus Portugal duo Ruben Neves and Renato Sanches.

Moore follows goalkeeper Chris Haigh through the door at City, after he rejoined the club on a season-long loan from Ebbsfleet United.
