A GOALKEEPER sent off twice in one season against Oxford United – while playing for bitter rivals Swindon Town – has earned a move to the Premier League.

Lawrence Vigouroux saw red against the U’s in both Sky Bet League One games during the 2016/17 season.

United won 2-0 at the Kassam Stadium in September 2016, with both Lloyd Jones and Vigouroux sent off for the visitors.

A month later, Vigouroux and U’s boss Michael Appleton squared up to each other as both sides went off at half-time in an EFL Trophy tie at the Robins.

Vigouroux again failed to see out a game between the two teams when they met the following February, picking up a red card after clattering Kane Hemmings on the edge of the penalty box.

The 29-year-old has now signed for Burnley on a three-year deal from Leyton Orient.

He was awarded the O’s player of the year in all three of his seasons with the club and helped them win the League Two title last season.
