BANBURY United have made their first signing of the summer, snapping up former Oxford City loanee Jack Davies.

The 20-year-old defender’s contract with MK Dons expires on June 30, with the Puritans acting quickly to get his signature.

Davies first joined the Hoops on loan at the start of the 2021/22 campaign, playing 19 times and helping keep six clean sheets.

Last season, he joined another Vanarama National League South side in Concord Rangers, where he made 14 appearances before returning to City for another loan stint in the second half of the campaign.

He played 13 times for the Hoops as they secured promotion to the National League.

Davies told the Puritans website: “I’m very happy to be here. I’ve been following Banbury United since the promotion year and heard a lot of positive things about Mark Jones from the lads at Oxford City. I’m excited to be part of the new era at the club.”
