OXFORD United may have avoided the drop from the third tier this season, but four sides still suffered relegation to Sky Bet League Two.

Vultures will inevitably circle and look to take away those teams’ most prized assets.

Forest Green Rovers became the final of the four clubs relegated from League One to announce their retained lists, doing so yesterday.

We examined who United might take a look at this summer.

MK Dons

• Josh McEachran

The 30-year-old former Chelsea prodigy will become a free agent on June 30 and could be seen as someone to sprinkle a little bit of quality and experience in the middle of the park.

Born in Oxford, his brother Zac is local to the area as starred for Oxford City in their promotion from Vanarama National League South this season.

• Nathan Holland

A name on this list already familiar to U’s fans, having enjoyed two previous loan spells at Grenoble Road.

The 24-year-old winger is still under contract at MK, but worked with United head coach Liam Manning during his time in charge of West Ham United’s Under-23s.

• Dan Kemp

Will be under contract next season and something of a wildcard option, but another who worked with Manning at West Ham.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder hasn’t found a regular starting berth for Dons, but from January, did net nine goals in 16 games on loan at Hartlepool United as they were relegated from League Two.

• Mo Eisa

The 28-year-old striker’s option has been exercised at MK, after bagging 14 goals in 37 games last season.

A return of 23 goals from 45 matches for Cheltenham Town prompted Bristol City to spend a reported £1.5 million for him in July 2018.

Morecambe

• Jensen Weir

On loan from Brighton & Hove Albion last season, the 21-year-old midfielder grabbed himself 11 goals in 51 appearances.

The son of former Everton defender David Weir, his Albion deal expires this summer.

• Adam Mayor

Under contract with Morecambe, the teenage winger enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Shrimps, scoring four goals in 39 games.

His first professional deal sees him at Morecambe until at least the summer of 2025.

• Cole Stockton

No stranger to being linked with the U’s, Stockton will become a free agent this summer.

The 29-year-old striker scored 12 goals in 44 matches last season and was shortlisted for the League One player of the month award for April after netting five goals in six games.

Accrington Stanley

• Ethan Hamilton

His contract extension has been triggered so the 24-year-old midfielder would require a fee.

He scored a late stunning long-range effort to equalise when Stanley drew with United at the Wham Stadium in December.

• Liam Coyle

Another under contract for next season, the 23-year-old holding midfielder could help fill that problem position for the U’s.

The combative midfielder made 45 appearances last season and picked up 18 yellow cards.

Forest Green Rovers

• Myles Peart-Harris

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder was on loan from Brentford and racked up six goals in 47 games.

He joined the Bees from Chelsea in July 2021 and another loan switch seems likely this coming season.
