OXFORD United Women’s top of the table clash has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The U’s sit top of Southern Premier Division and were braced for a trip to second-placed Watford tonight, however a 3.30pm pitch inspection has seen the fixture called off.
Watford said in a statement: “Tonight’s league meeting with Oxford United has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
“The referee has deemed the pitch unplayable and unsafe, with standing water due to heavy downpour and weather set to worsen this afternoon.
“Information on the game’s rescheduled date will be confirmed in due course.”
United currently lead a four-way race for the Southern Premier Division title with a game in hand, while Watford and Ipswich Town trail by just a point. Portsmouth are two points behind the U’s.
Liam Gilbert’s side must face all of their title rivals in three of their final four games though.
