JP Mills has become Witney United's first ever contracted player after agreeing terms for the new Hellenic League Premier Division campaign.

The former Southampton and Swindon Supermarine midfielder played a significant role in Witney's best ever Hellenic League Premier Division finish of fourth, scoring eight goals in 23 appearances.

"For me, JP is the most complete midfield player in the league and this represents a significant bit of business for the club," said manager Andy Lyne.

"Our plans for next season are going well and getting a commitment from such an influential player is a massive boost."

Defender Dean Smith and striker Andrew Younie have also re-signed.

Lyne added: "Deano is a terrific and highly versatile player with great recovery pace.

"Younie lights the place up with his movement, touch and vision.

"He has great potential and is one of the cleverest forwards I have worked with."
