BANBURY United’s challenge to end a nine-game winless run will be tested when they host play-off chasing opposition tonight.

The Puritans are 18th in Vanarama National League North and three points above the relegation zone.

Andy Whing’s side welcome fifth-placed Darlington, four points inside the play-off places.

The north-east side were held to a goalless draw away to Kettering Town at the weekend.

Banbury meanwhile were beaten on home soil against bottom side AFC Telford United, despite playing the majority of the game with an extra man.

Luke Burke was shown a red card after 25 minutes for a challenge on Ben Acquaye, who then gave the Puritans the lead.

Lewis Salmon and Kai Williams condemned Banbury to defeat though.
