GEORGE Anthony was delighted to see Oxford United Women’s development squad put six past Watford.
The first team weren’t in action at the weekend, however the development side won 6-2 on home turf.
Braces from Erin Hartigan and Lacy-Jai Liggett, plus strikes from Sarah King and Georgia Hayes, ensured United took all three points
The U’s are top of the Reserve South East and Central Division, three points clear of MK Dons who have a game in hand.

Development team manager Anthony told the club website: “We were really pleased with the way we went about the game.
“We played with a lot of attacking intent and a lot of the pictures that we’ve been working on in training came out.
“It’s very tight at the top of the table and Watford are a good side, so it was important to get a result.
“We’ve said before we want to be up there with the best teams and I’m really happy with the way that the squad have been building week on week.
“It’s now all about keeping the momentum going and making sure we prepare right for every game so that we can help the girls continue to develop both as people and players.”
United are next in action when they host Tower Hill Ladies in the quarter finals of the Oxfordshire FA County Cup on Sunday afternoon.
