A PENALTY save from Ben Dudzinski helped Oxford City extend their unbeaten run to seven games in Vanarama National League South.

The Hoops remain in the play-off places after a 1-1 draw at fellow play-off hopefuls Eastbourne Borough.

The East Sussex side went ahead after just nine minutes when Chris Whelpdale slotted home after a header rebounded off the post.

Charlie Walker missed the chance to make it 2-0 after nicking the ball off Dudzinski, but lost his balance and fired wide.

At the other end, Josh Parker hit the post with a curling effort, before Andre Burley recovered well to stop Leone Gravata doubling the Eastbourne lead.

With 63 minutes on the clock, Dudzinski got a strong palm to Shiloh Remy’s penalty, awarded after a tangle of legs in the box.

Three minutes later, City equalised when Joe Iaciofano tapped home at the back post, after an Aaron Williams-Bushell cross.

The Hoops chased a winner, but goalkeeper Lee Worgan was equal to efforts from Reece Fleet and Parker.

City even had the ball in the net again through Iaciofano, however the linesman deemed the striker to have been in an offside position.
