ROSS Jenkins is wary of Dulwich Hamlet despite their lowly league position.

The Oxford City head coach will be looking to get his side into a play-off place, with the Hoops currently outside the top seven on goal difference.

Despite Dulwich sitting one point above the bottom four in Vanarama National League South, Jenkins says their position is not a true reflection of the London side.

He also highlighted a former Hoops player who will pose a threat at the weekend.

“They’re a dangerous team, we’ve always had good encounters with them,” said Jenkins.

“I think they’ve got a few games in hand so I don’t even look at the table in terms of where they’re sat.

“We know a couple of their players, they’ve had a few players there who have been there for a while now.

“We know Nana Owusu, who came from us last season.

“We know he’s got some threat and he’s dangerous, they’ve got a lot of threat and danger in their team.

“We have to prepare properly and be aware of all their threats, and try and limit those threats as much as possible.

“It’s going to be a really competitive game because they’re high-energy, they’re expansive and play a good brand of football.

“I don’t care if they’re sat bottom, mid-table or top, Dulwich have always been a tough team to play against, and I’ll expect the same on Saturday.”

Kick-off at Court Place Farm is at 12.30pm, and Jenkins said the earlier time shouldn’t pose a problem for his side.

He said: “The eating one is the biggest one, making sure the boys get the right timings when they eat.

“Everyone knows what time they should be eating.

“Everyone’s different though, some players don’t really have a big meal so as long as they prepare properly and they set their body clock correctly, I don’t think it’s much of a problem.

“We’ll soon see after the game how leggy we look or how fresh we are.

“Both teams have got to deal with it, it’s going to be a different one and hopefully we can get a good result.”

City won 2-1 at Cheshunt last time out, Aaron Williams-Bushell scoring a winner in the 90th minute.

Jenkins said: “It was a difficult place to go, so really pleasing to get three points there.”

Banbury United are also involved in a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, away at National League North’s bottom side, AFC Telford United.

The Puritans have won three on the bounce in the league, and sit seventh in the table, one point inside the play-off places.
