OXFORD United scored three times in nine minutes to book their place in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The U’s took the lead when Exeter City’s Cheick Diabate miscontrolled a pass, allowing Matty Taylor to pounce.

The United striker ran onto the ball, and arced a finish from 25 yards beyond Jamal Blackman, who was stranded outside his six-yard box.

Jake Caprice then sent a dangerous cross to the back post, where Josh Key was unable to apply the finishing touch.

The Grecians had Blackman to thank after he made a quickfire triple stop.

Marcus McGuane burst into the box from the left, with Blackman producing a double save to deny James Henry, before thwarting Cameron Brannagan at his back post.

In the second half, Ed McGinty almost got caught out when he fumbled a Caprice cross, but recovered to claim the ball at the second attempt, before it bounced over the line.

The U’s went straight up the other end and doubled their lead when Taylor’s cross fell to Marcus Browne, who touched the ball onto Bodin.

United’s No 7 then had the simple task of stabbing home from four yards.

The pick of the goals came six minutes later when Brannagan jinked inside from the left and fired low into the far corner from just inside the penalty area.

The fourth goal was scored with two minutes to go when a Tyler Goodrham through ball to Gatlin O’Donkor found Bodin, who finished neatly beyond the onrushing Blackman.

There was still time for a consolation when Matt Jay got a touch to a Caprice cross from the left, but it was United who sailed into the third round.
