OXFORD United were dumped out of the Papa John’s Trophy after suffering a 2-0 defeat at Sutton United.
Matty Taylor had the chance to give the visitors the lead but saw his shot cannon off the crossbar and onto the goal line.
Sutton went ahead when Coby Rowe rose highest to head home from a corner.
Alex Gorrin saw a shot saved by Brad House, before Billy Bodin fired over moments later.
At the other end, Stuart Findlay fouled Kylian Kouassi inside the box, with the Sutton forward picking himself up to send Ed McGinty the wrong way from the penalty spot.
