ROSS Jenkins says his Oxford City side must treat their Emirates FA Cup tie this afternoon as they would any other fixture.

The Hoops travel to Hornchurch, with a place in the first round proper at stake, after requiring a replay to get past Plymouth Parkway.

City needed a last minute header from Canice Carroll to earn the replay, and were only able to win that tie 3-1 in extra-time after Josh Parker equalised in the 90th minute.

Hornchurch, who play in the Isthmian League Premier Division, one tier below the Hoops in Vanarama National League South, have recent history in knockout competition.

In 2021, the Urchins beat Hereford in the final of the FA Trophy.

Jenkins said: “We know it’s going to be a competitive game.

“It’s important we address it as we do any other game, it doesn’t matter what competition or the level of the opposition.

“They’ve got momentum and are doing well in the league.

“We have to be fully on our game to get anything out of it.

“The boys understand that, Plymouth Parkway opened their eyes, a real strong competitive team took us to the wire.

“It’s important we address it properly but it’s one all the players and the club are looking forward to.”
