NORTH Leigh returned to league action with a defeat on home soil.

Eddie Odhiambo’s side secured their place in the first round of the FA Trophy with a penalty shoot-out win against Tiverton Town at the weekend.

The visitors went ahead through a penalty just before the hour mark, before Alex John added a second goal in the 75th minute.

Ryan Knight scored the only goal of the game with seven minutes on the clock.

Didcot Town beat AFC Dunstable 3-2, with Jamar Smith, Taylor Bedwell and a debut strike from Jenson Wright securing the win.
