KARL Robinson was relieved to receive positive news after Oxford United’s game against Wycombe Wanderers was stopped due to a medical emergency.

Cameron Brannagan had just seen a penalty saved by Max Stryjek, when the officials were alerted to the incident in the stands at the Kassam Stadium.

Play was then halted for 45 minutes, with the players and staff heading into their respective dressing rooms.

Speaking after the 1-0 defeat to the Chairboys, Robinson said: “The most horrific scenes was seeing someone collapse behind you and the fans telling us what was going on.

“We walked on the pitch and wanted to stop the game because it was the right thing to do.

“What we got told was that he was back breathing and starting to come around.

“He was on the ambulance on the way to hospital, and that for us was the most important aspect.”

Brannagan added: “That was the main priority, when we went in and found out what was going on.

“I’m hoping that he’s okay, I heard that he was okay so that was good news and that was the main thing.

“I’m glad he’s okay and I wish him well and hope he has a speedy recovery.”
