Only seconds separated the Didcot Phoenix trio in the Hillingdon 25-mile open time trial on the High Wycombe, Sonning and Marlow course.

Steve Wright was fastest of the Phoenix riders in 57 mins 16 secs. A second behind was Mark Scanlan with 57.17.

Steve Luck recorded 57.53 to make up the trio.

Mick Fountain, after an incident with a vehicle, which left him a little battered and bruised, recorded a 1.04.46.

In the West London ten-mile open event on the Southmoor A420 course, Didcot riders finished high up the leaderboard.

Paul Lloyd took bronze in a time of 21.51, closely followed by Mark Cox 21.57 in fourth.

Fountain was top veteran on standard with a 6.30+ and an actual time of 25.00 Other Didcot Phoenix times: P Richardson 24.37, D Collet 27:05, G Henderson (W) 27.34, T Smith 27 39.

Scanlan was top Phoenix rider in Sunday's Didcot Phoenix Open 25-mile time trial on the Cumnor to Faringdon course with a time of 59.04 mins for 12th spot. Wright recorded a 59.14 in 14th. The event was won by Nik Gardiner (John's Bakes) in 53.41.

Steve Luck was fastest Didcot rider in the Crabwood CC Open ten-mile time trial on the Andover course with a time of in 21.59. He came 12th.

On the club time-trial scene, Mark Cox finally managed to get the top place by winning the ten-mile time trial at Stadhampton.

Cox's time of 22.57 mins was nearly a minute clear of second-placed Scanlan.
