WHEN results are going against you, it is not only the on-pitch performances in the firing line.

In recent weeks, calls for clarity on Oxford United’s ownership have increased as we pass 18 months since the changes in the boardroom became public knowledge.

Updates have been scarce, as you might expect during an ongoing transaction, and U’s figures have always said it remains business as usual when asked about the issue in interviews.

Meanwhile, the English Football League told the Oxford Mail it would not comment 'on individual cases in respect of change of control matters', adding that it is the 'club’s responsibility to disclose'.

Unfortunately, this does not answer supporters' questions.

After Anindya Bakrie’s most recent interview last November, I wrote that it was important that fans see and hear from the board regularly.

We sometimes catch a glimpse of United directors at games - chairman Sumrith 'Tiger' Thanakarnjanasuth has attended matches this season, as has Horst Geicke - but that is about it.

Once the change of ownership is announced – and hopefully we will not have to wait much longer – my No 1 wish is for regular communication from the ‘new’ board.

Supporters know as well as anyone that this is a crucial time in United's history, with their lease at the Kassam Stadium running down and the painstaking process of relocating to Stratfield Brake absolutely vital to their long-term future.

It makes it as important as ever that there is regular communication from the top, which would benefit club and fans alike.
