Didcot Tn 1 (King pen 63)

AFC Hayes 1 (Jordan 90)

A stunning strike from op-scorer Danny Jordan deep into stoppage time saw ten-man Hayes end Didcot's lingering hopes of challenging Farnborough for the Division 1 South & West title on Saturday.

It was another unconvincing performance from Didcot, who have now only won two of their last seven League games.

They must win both their remaining games to ensure a home tie in the semi-finals of the play-offs.

Hayes had the best of the early chances when Jordan went clear, but fired tamely into the side-netting.

Didcot's first chance fell to Jack King, who headed Anaclet Odhiambo's cross narrowly wide.

But they were soon grateful to skipper Jamie Heapy, who cleared a shot from Greg Homer off the line for the visitors.

Ashley Vine missed a great chance, after being put through by Paul Powell. Didcot's best opportunity of the half fell to Paul Powell, who was denied by a brilliant block by keeper Simeone Charles.

With the wind behind them in the second half, Didcot virtually camped in and around the Hayes penalty box.

Charles pulled off a stunning block from Scott Davis, but picked up an injury at the same time and was replaced by Kieron Jimmy.

And it wasn't long before Jimmy was picking the ball out of his net.

Mosiah Polidore was penalised for handball in the box, a decision which infuriated the visitors, who believed it was accidental.

King made no mistake from the spot and it looked at that point as if the home side would go on to claim an easy victory.

Odhiambo was guilty of two bad misses, both from close range, as Didcot piled on the pressure, while Richard Peirson was narrowly off-target with a long-range free-kick.

Hayes's Homer was then red-carded for a cynical challenge on Odhiambo, but the visitors kept pushing forward.

Their reward came in injury time.

There looked little danger when Jordan lined up a free-kick from 30 yards, following a foul by Richard Witt.

However, Jordan struck the ball so well that neither the Didcot defensive wall nor keeper Michael Watkins had any chance of stopping the shot, which finished in the bottom corner of the net.

Didcot: Watkins, Heapy, Jack (Bicknell 78), Davis, Peirson, Parrott, Hope (Witt 62), King, Vine (Rusher 71), Odhiambo, Powell.
