Wallingford's Under 10 A team will play in a curtain-raiser for the Guinness Premiership final at Twickenham.

They will take on Otley on May 31 after progressing through regional qualifying in Nottingham.

Captained by Conor Graney, they are the Oxfordshire champions, showing success is not just confined to Wallingford's senior teams.

Jamie McCulloch and Finbar Aherne were the top try-scorers in the tournament.

  • Chinmnor Academy produced an encouraging performance when losing 20-7 at home to London Wasps in an under 18 match.

Wasps were the toughest opponents Chinnor have faced, but the Oxon club led with a try when centre Alex Woodhouse latched on to fly half Sam Angel's kick.

Full back Ryan Binnie slotted the conversion and Chinnor continued to dominate the first half.

Wasps regrouped after the break to score three tries, one conversion and a penalty.

Chinnor ended the match positively, but couldn't find the final pass.

Academy manager Clive Davies said: "The younger lads really stepped up to the plate in this game and the older ones were excellent in displaying leadership skills around the park.

"We have the makings of an excellent squad for the future."
