Oxford enjoyed a clean sweep over Cambridge in the Varsity judo match.

The Dark Blues won 4-3 in their clash, with the other victories coming from the City team (a combined town and gown side), the ladies team and an Oxford B side.

The City side claimed a 5-2 win, their first-ever success, while the ladies triumphed 3-2 and the Ridgebacks, Oxford B, eased to a 7-1 success.

  • The FWC Oxford Club achieved some great results in the national Kung Fu competition at Goldsmith's College in New Cross, London.

The highlight for the Oxford Club was a sensational 1-2-3 in the Men's Full Contact Middleweight class - Alex Doubor beating Dominic Pulker in the final.

Adele Molyneaux won a bronze in her first-ever competition.

  • The Merrett family, from Berinsfield Shaolin Tigers Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts Club, enjoyed a day of success in an open tournament hosted by Pegasus Kickboxing Club in Chesham.

Competing in the light continuous category, Lee Merrett, 38, won his match, as did his 11-year-old son, Joshua who beat Alicia Simpson, from the hosts.

Lee's younger son Zachary, 8, drew his match with Marcus Harwood.

All three train under Jason Walsh at the Berinsfield club, which welcomes new members.

Training is on Saturdays (12-1pm) and Tuesdays (8.30-9.30pm) at Berinsfield Sports Centre.
