Former Ardington & Lockinge striker Matthew Pedder dented his old side's chances of taking the Division 1 league crown with one of the goals in leaders Lambourn Sports' 2-0 victory, writes ANDY WELLS.

Ardington bossed the opening first half-hour, but were unable to find the net.

And they were made to pay when Danny Pearce stole in unmarked at the far post to nudge the ball home.

Ben Sutton and Gareth Fenton went close to levelling, but six minutes from time, Pedder headed their second to seal victory. He was denied a double when Mark Pryde tipped his piledriver onto the bar.

Saxton Rovers had to settle for a point as they drew 1-1 against Faringdon Town.

Shane Preece-Tripp gave them the lead, before Robbie Harrington salvaged a point.

Mike Yardley hit a double as Harwell International heaped more misery on basement boys Marcham with a 4-2 win.

Sam Pointer and Lawrence Hoey got their other goals, with John Christianson and Luke Westall replying.

Sutton Courtenay boosted their chances of beating the drop with a 4-2 victory against Long Wittenham Athletic.

Vinny Cooper, Ian Dingwall, Danny Cox and Nigel Hendy were the marksmen for Sutton. Tim Barton and Steve Molloy netted for Athletic.

Shrivenham A appear doomed after they lost 3-0 against second-placed Benson AFC, for whom Carl Fisher, James Taylor and Joe Flower were the scorers.

Division 3 leaders Ardington & Lockinge Res edged to a 2-1 win against Benson Lions, thanks to goals from Frankie Dorrian and Kevin Pryde.

Second-placed Warborough & Shillingford saw off Botley United 2-1.

Chris Potter scored for Botley, but Grahame Dellaway and an own goal gave Warborough the win.

Tom Fisher hit the winner as Didcot Casuals beat Childrey United 1-0.

Drayton Res moved away from the drop zone with a 2-1 home win over Blewbury Res.

Dominic Ladd and Carl Bolton netted for Drayton with Leigh Janes scoring for Blewbury.

In Division 4, two goals apiece for Darren Robinson and 17-year-old Christopher Bowler gave Hagbourne United a 4-2 win at basement boys Uffington United. Stuart Rolfe and Brett Reay replied.

Liam Jones, 17, hit a hat-trick as Hagbourne Res thrashed Challow Res 7-0.

Kevin Williams (2), Dave Sheppard and Allan Douglas got their others.

Jamie Luland slammed a treble for Kennington Res as they won 5-1 at Hanney United Res.

Ben Cripps and Luke Brown got the others, while Aaron Drew replied.

Sam Jenkins (2) hit back for Uffington.

Mike Marsh hit the winner for Faringdon Town Res as they fought back to beat Coleshill United Res 2-1 in the semi-finals of the AG Kingham Cup.

Shane Blake fired Coleshill ahead and although Faringdon's Matt Hickson missed a penalty, Marsh's 25-yard strike brought them level, before he hit a second.

They will meet Lambourn Sports Res after they beat Harwell International Res 2-0. Steve Crame hit a double for Lambourn.
