Drayton's Division 1 title bid suffered a big setback as defending champions Lambourn Sports took over at the top of the North Berks League with a 2-1 victory.

Kevin Kogel gave Drayton the lead firing home after Danny Curran's overhead kick crashed off the bar.

However, just after the break, Matthew Pedder levelled when he deflected Darren Jones's cross past keeper Graham Coulthard in the Drayton goal. Ben Hopkins then got the winner for Lambourn.

Andrew Cummings went close, before his Drayton teammate Richard Chilvers rattled the bar.

Previous leaders Harwell Village went down to a 3-2 defeat at Ardington & Lockinge.

A double from Gareth Fenton and an Andy Woodhouse strike saw Ardington ease into a 3-0 lead.

Although John Willis and Alan Bertrum reduced the deficit, the equaliser proved elusive.

Saxton Rovers had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Blewbury.

Neil Pether gave Saxton a 15-minute lead, only for Blewbury to level through Bryn Ingram.

It could have been worse for Saxton, but Darren Spayes saved a penalty.

Gary Sutton, Robbie Harrington and Lee Rundle slammed doubles as Faringdon Town thrashed Marcham 6-0.

Strikes from Fletcher Hoey, Mike Yardley and Lawrence Hoey earned Harwell International a 3-1 win against Coleshill United.

Steventon battled from behind to beat Wootton & Dry Sandford 4-2.

Josh Nicholls and Tom Srawley gave Wootton a two-goal cushion, but Steventon hit back through Nick Thompson, Stuart Armstrong, Danny Parry and Danny McArdle to win the game.

In Division 2, a goal from a Paul Lucas earned Kingsclere a 1-0 win at leaders Crowmarsh Gifford.

Warborough & Shillingford closed th egap on Division 3 leaders Ardington & Lockinge Res with a 3-2 victory.

Ross Tabor, Darryl Hutt and James Almond netted for Warborough with Matt Searis and Tom Eatwell replying.

A last-minute strike from Graeme Munro earned Benson Lions a 1-0 success against Drayton Res.

Steve Harrhy smashed a hat-trick for ten-man Benson Res as they won 6-1 at Kennington Res in Division 5.

Tito Rodriquez (2) and Will Clements got the others.

Late on, Benson's Carl Fisher received his marching orders.

TIM Young hit the first-half-winner as Didcot Casuals Res set up a North Berks Cup final meeting with Coleshill United Res after a 1-0 win against Faringdon Town A.

Young bagged the decisive goal a minute before the break whne he slotted home from six yards.

Coleshill booked their place with a 6-0 win against Long Wittenham Res.

Adam Sly notched a double, with Chris Bill, James Head, John McLeod and Adam Starling also on target.
