Oxford City crushed leaders Riverside Strikers 6-1 to take over at the top of the Southern Region Women's Premier Division.

Unbeaten City started the game in third place, but leapfrogged Riverside and Shanklin to lead on goal difference.

Lauren Carnell's seventh-minute penalty, after Michelle Robinson was fouled, put City ahead.

Katie Totton slotted a second nine minutes later after Steph Mobbs's deflected cross was tipped onto the bar.

Totton's free kick made it 3-0 at the break, while City's defence, marshalled by Carol Harwood kept it tight.

It was 4-0 on 71 minutes as Mobbs dispatched the first of a hat-trick after being set up by Louise Craig.

Two minutes later Mobbs added her second after excellent interplay with Hannah Smye.

Riverside pulled a goal back in the 79th minute, but Mobbs scored with a great run and shot in the final minute.

City's A team lost 5-3 to Newbury in Division 1.
