OXFORD United’s Sky Bet League One clash with Bristol Rovers has been moved forward to a 12.30pm kick-off.

The game at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 13, was initially scheduled to start at 3pm.

United said in a statement: “The clubs reluctantly agreed to the request of Avon & Somerset Police, specifically the late timing, and apologise to any fans who have already made travel arrangements.”

It is the U’s second away match of the season after they kick-off the campaign at Derby County this Saturday.

United fans last attended a league fixture at the Memorial Stadium in August 2019, in Matty Taylor’s first game at the home of his former club since his move to Bristol City two years earlier.

The visitors received a police escort to the ground amid a hostile atmosphere.

United faced Rovers four times in 2021, with their last meeting a dramatic 4-3 defeat at the Memorial Stadium in the Emirates FA Cup first round last November.
