OXFORD City Stars have re-signed Jakub Klima.

The Czech national scored eight goals after joining the club halfway through last season and is looking forward to his first full campaign.

He said: “I don’t think I showed my full strength last season, but now I have time to prepare myself to help my team much more.

“I can’t wait to be back on the ice with the yellow jersey on.”

Klima played for clubs including Nottingham Lions, Milton Keynes Thunder and Chelmsford Warriors before a long period out of the game.

Head coach Simon Anderson said: "Jakub is someone I have always admired as a player and he always scored against my teams in the past, so I’m glad I now have the opportunity to coach him.

“By his own admission he did not have the best of seasons last year, but to be fair he came in part way through the year after a spell out of the game and that is always tough.

“With him signing earlier and able to prepare I will be looking for him to get back to his best and provide the offence that we need from a player of his undoubted ability.

"I know from talking to the other boys, Jakub is a great guy in the room and if we can get him firing, he could really be a guy who can help elevate us up the league table."
