Chinnor had a massive slice of luck despite drawing 32-32 at Reading, who featured nine British Army players.

The Kingsey Road side stayed top of South West 1 on points difference after title rivals Bracknell received a walkover from scheduled visitors St Ives.

Most teams have been putting 70 points past the travelling Cornishmen, but because the match was conceded, Bracknell couldn't boost their points difference!

Chinnor were twice comfortably ahead against a Reading side who are battling relegation.

No 8 Ledau Jope scored a third-minute try to put the hosts ahead.

But Chinnor wing Phil Huxford showed his pace to equalise, with fly half James Cathcart converting and adding a penalty.

The visitors then scored a second with full back Ben Hewitt and flanker Andrew McGuire setting up centre Darren Oxley.

An interception try from Karneli Vuadreu, who looked offside, reduced the gap, but wing Pip Seymour chased his own kick ahead to score out wide with Cathcart converting to put Chinnor 22-12 up at half-time.

It was soon 25-12 thanks to a Cathcart penalty.

But two tries from centre Peceli Nacarnavuto, plus a penalty and conversion from Alex Wallace, put Reading ahead.

A try from Jaike Carter, converted by Cathcart, made it 32-27, but Nacarnavuto notched again.

Oxford Harlequins claimed they were robbed as they went down 14-13 at Cleve.

Quins led 13-11 with two minutes to go when Cleve fly half Matt Spencer kicked a disputed penalty.

The drama wasn't finished, however, and visiting No 10 Frank Jones shaved the left post with a tricky penalty that proved the final action.

Quins suffered an early blow when flanker Ferdi Gerber was yellow-carded on eight minutes.

Cleve made their extra man count when flanker Andy Edwards was driven over for a try.

Quins gradually clawed their way back and levelled on 25 minutes, full back Huw Jones chasing down his own grubber to score.

Spencer responded with a penalty, which Frank Jones matched to make it 8-8 at half-time.

In between, Noyce could not hang on to a poor pass with the line at his mercy.

Quins came on strong after the break and Cleve lock Lewis Hellier was sin-binned in the 54th minute as his side defended desperately.

But Spencer slotted a second penalty on 70 minutes in a rare attack for the hosts.

Quins struck back when No 8 Anthony Jackson was driven over five minutes later, but they couldn't hold on.
