Henley Hawks remain in real relegation trouble after losing 9-5 at home to Westcombe Park in National 2.

They registered their first point since November, but this was of little consolation in their seventh successive league defeat.

Hawks started brightly with flankers Matt Payne and Stean Williams making good breaks into the 22.

Wings Mark Odejobi and Chris Simmons were also threatening and combined for the opening try on 25 minutes.

Park full back Sam Naden fumbled a kick from Henley fly half Jim Farndon as Odejobi and Simmons attacked, with the former touching down in the corner.

Full back Nathan Lambden missed the conversion and five other kicks in a disappointing afternoon.

Westcombe struggled in the lineout, but they dominated the second half.

Henley's only real attack saw Simmons recalled for a dubious forward pass.

Successful penalties on 66 and 67 minutes from fly half James Whittingham gave Park the lead as former Henley No 8 Tom Hayman looked in control.

Park hooker Jon Moyce was sin-binned, but Lambden missed a straight-forward penalty and Whittingham slotted his third with the last kick of the match.
