OXFORD City Stars have added another forward to their ranks with the signing of Carter Lloyd.

The 21-year-old joins the club after spending last season at Cardiff Fire and Bristol Pitbulls via a two-way agreement.

Lloyd scored 13 goals in 13 appearances in 2021/22 and hopes to replicate his success at Oxpens.

He said: “I’m excited to get started with Oxford and for a new challenge.

“I’ve been happy with everything Shane (Moore, head of hockey operations) and Simon (Anderson, head coach) have been saying about the goals of the club and now can’t wait to get started and meet the team.

“Hopefully I can offer a lot going forward with my speed and drive to get the puck to the net.”

Lloyd is the third forward signed by Stars this summer, following Shannon Taylor and Josh Abbott through the doors at Oxpens.

Moore said: “Carter has been on the club’s radar for a while now, so I’m pleased to be able to bring him over.

“Carter brings lightning-quick speed, which will trouble a lot of defenders this coming season.

“I felt last season we needed a broader range of skills, and the team that has been built this season has a little bit of everything.

“I’m expecting it to be an exciting season with all the new blood bringing a different dimension to the roster this year.”
