JEROME Sinclair is likely to feature in one of Oxford United’s midweek friendlies.

The U’s squad will again split in two for the games at Hungerford Town tonight and Eastleigh tomorrow (both 7.45pm kick-offs).

Sinclair is without a club and played the first half of Saturday’s 2-1 win at Banbury United, his first match in more than a year.

U’s head coach Karl Robinson said after the game that he would be open to the former loanee returning on a permanent deal ‘if he keeps improving’.

Another player who has trained with United this summer could also be involved against Hungerford or Eastleigh.

He is expected to be the only new face in the midweek line-ups as the U’s continue to tie up a deal for an overseas target.

In terms of current players, Sam Long was due to have an ankle scan yesterday after missing the weekend double-header against North Leigh and Banbury.

Anthony Forde, Sam Baldock and Alex Gorrin were also absent, with the latter set to be rested for at least two more games as he works his way back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Hungerford finished 12th in Vanarama National League South last season.
