ROSS Miller has turned down interest from other clubs to re-sign for Oxford City Stars.

The experienced netminder caught the eye with his performances in 2021/22, despite the Oxpens outfit’s eighth-place finish in NIHL Division 1 South.

It meant re-signing the Welshman was a top priority for Simon Anderson and the head coach was thrilled Miller chose to stay with Stars.

He said: “Getting Ross back for this season was a massive priority for me.

“No question he is one of the best goaltenders in the league and legitimate number one.

“He is a great guy in the room and really popular with his teammates and the fans.

“With Ross in our net he will give us a chance to win every match and I am looking forward to having him as part of our roster.”

Miller has been with Stars since 2019 and suggested it was an easy decision.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be back at Oxford for this season.

“Even though we had our work cut out on the ice, off ice last season was certainly one of the most enjoyable seasons I’ve had and I couldn’t have been happier to be around all the people I’ve met in the past three years again.

“Oxford is a great club with a great spirit and with some exciting changes announced and to be announced I look forward to challenging up the table this season.”
