ROSS Jenkins was pleased with Oxford City’s attitude in their 3-1 win over St Albans City.

Zac McEachran’s early strike was cancelled out by Johnny Goddard and it was anyone’s game as the second half wore on.

But Joe Iaciofano and Ewan Clark scored in the space of four minutes to seal victory in City’s final home match of the regular season.

Head coach Jenkins said: “We really wanted that clean sheet, but they’re a good team and sometimes they’re going to score.

“The reaction at 1-1 was really important, I thought the boys showed great character to come back and we scored three really good goals.”

The win means City will get a home tie in their play-off eliminator match, with Jenkins’ side guaranteed to finish at least fifth.

It was their second victory in 48 hours, having beaten Concord Rangers on Saturday, and the head coach hailed a productive weekend.

Jenkins said: “To play two games in three days is tough physically.

“It was important we used the whole squad and everyone’s played their part.

“It’s really important we try to keep this momentum and the feel-good factor and we go into Saturday (at Bath City) for another big game.”
