JASON Crump feels Oxford Cheetahs’ trips to the north east can prove productive.

The newly-reformed club visit Berwick Bandits for their second away meeting of the season tonight, with tapes up at 7pm at Shielfield Park.

Cheetahs have suffered back-to-back defeats to SGB Championship holders Poole Pirates in the last seven days, leaving them eighth in the early standings.

But team manager Crump views the trip to Berwick as a chance to climb the table.

The three-time world champion said: “It’s a big old track around a football pitch but hopefully our boys will step up to it.

“In my opinion, Berwick and Newcastle are the two tracks we’ve got to look at coming away with something.

“I’m sure everybody feels the same way.”

Berwick won their first two home meetings, beating Birmingham Brummies and Edinburgh Monarchs.
