KARL Robinson is ‘disappointed’ Oxford United were not given more tickets for Saturday’s game at second-placed Rotherham United.

The U’s have sold their allocation of 1,200 for the huge Sky Bet League One clash, with the final seats snapped up yesterday lunchtime.

English Football League clubs must give at least 10 per cent of their ground capacity to away supporters, which Rotherham have done as the New York Stadium holds 12,000 people.

The Kassam Stadium is a similar size, though, and United regularly offer 1,800 tickets to opposition teams.

Robinson reckons the U’s could have sold almost double their allocation as they look to take their play-off push to the final day of the season.

United’s head coach said: “We give away fans more tickets than we get.

“We could have sold at least 800 more tickets. Why couldn’t we take 2,000?

“We’re a big club in this league now, so maybe teams need to have a bit more respect for us.

“Our fans are some of the best away fans in the league and when we get given extra tickets we generally sell them.

“We’re a bit disappointed from that point of view, but that’s only because I know people want to go to the game.

“I’ve had phone calls asking if I’ve got any spare tickets and I haven’t, unfortunately.”

Today, Rotherham announced they are selling tickets to home supporters in the Mears South Stand, which includes the visiting section.

United sold-out the away ends at Cambridge United, AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe Wanderers earlier this season, while they have taken big followings to several other grounds.
