SIX of Sky Bet League One’s top ten will look to take advantage of games in hand tonight.

Oxford United are not in action and will almost certainly stay fourth in the table, but some of the teams below them can cut the gap.

The biggest game of the evening is at Home Park where sixth-placed Plymouth Argyle host Portsmouth, who sit tenth.

The Pilgrims would move level on points with United if they win, but only a six-goal triumph would put them fourth on goal difference.

Pompey surely need at least a draw to keep their promotion hopes alive – Danny Cowley’s men have ten matches left, but they are seven points behind Argyle.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday and Wycombe Wanderers will expect to take advantage if Plymouth slip up.

The Owls are seventh, a point shy of the play-off places, and host 12th-placed Accrington Stanley.

Wycombe are two points further back and welcome relegation-threatened Fleetwood Town to Adams Park.

Elsewhere, League One’s top two have the chance to strengthen their automatic promotion bid.

Leaders Rotherham United are four points clear of third-placed MK Dons before their game in hand at home to Michael Appleton’s Lincoln City tonight.

Wigan Athletic are only ahead of MK on goal difference, although they have played three matches fewer. They visit basement boys Crewe Alexandra.

The two other matches see Charlton Athletic face Gillingham at The Valley and Shrewsbury Town host Morecambe.
