EDDIE Pepperell tees off at the Kenya Open today as he looks to give his 2022 a shot in the arm.

The Abingdon golfer has not competed for three weeks after missing the cut at his first two tournaments of the year in the UAE.

Pepperell is due to tee off at 1.10pm GMT, alongside American golfer Sean Crocker and Matthias Schmid, from Germany.

The Frilford Heath member will be aiming to get back on track at Muthaiga GC, Nairobi, after falling to No 445 in the world.

Pepperell, who turned 30 in January, has made the cut at only ten of his 25 tournaments dating back to the start of 2021 and last secured a

top-ten finish when he placed sixth at the BMW PGA Championship in October 2020.

The two-time European Tour winner tied for 96th at the Ras al Khaimah Championship at the start of February, his first event of 2022.

He then tied for 103rd at the Ras al Khaimah Classic a week later.

At the latter event, Pepperell dropped five shots in his final five holes – including two double bogeys in a row – to miss the cut.
