OXFORD City have whittled down the shortlist for their vacant manager role to four candidates.

The Vanarama National League South club are set to conduct the second round of interviews to decide who gets the job.

City received more than 50 applications after David Oldfield’s departure to Weymouth last month, before drawing up an eight-person shortlist.

That included Phil Brown, who managed in the Premier League with Hull City. The club have not confirmed if the 62-year-old reached the second stage.

Caretaker bosses Andy Ballard and Ross Jenkins were also interested, having claimed 12 points from their six matches in charge.

City are fourth in National League South ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Chelmsford City, who sit 14th.

They are ten points off leaders Dorking Wanderers and seven points clear of Eastbourne Borough, in eighth.
