A HORROR end to his second round cost Eddie Pepperell at the Ras Al Khaimah Classic.
The Abingdon golfer double-bogeyed the eighth and ninth holes at Al Hamra GC, UAE, after starting from the tenth on day two.
A pair of pars would have seen the 31-year-old make the cut, but instead he carded two-over on the second day to miss out by four shots.
Pepperell started poorly at the Ras al Khaimah Championship a week earlier, but day one was more consistent this time around.
The Frilford Heath member birdied the second hole, although a bogey at the fifth saw him drop back to level par.
Pepperell picked up shots at the 14th and 16th, although he bogeyed the 17th to card one-under on the first day.
He looked on course to make the cut for the first time in 2022 when he started his second round with a birdie at the tenth.
The two-time European Tour winner picked up shots at the first and third – but disaster struck late in his round.
A bogey at the fifth was not catastrophic, but Pepperell took seven shots to complete the par-five eighth and six at the ninth to miss out.
