CAMERON Brannagan reiterated his commitment to Oxford United after a record-breaking afternoon at Gillingham.

The Oxford United midfielder became the first player in English Football League history to score four penalties in the same game in a thumping 7-2 win for the visitors.

It was the first time the U’s have hit seven goals away from home since joining the league in 1962.

Brannagan has been the subject of transfer speculation for much of this month, with United rejecting interest from Sky Bet Championship club Blackpool.

The verdict: Historic win added another chapter to Oxford United's surreal month

Reports yesterday suggested the Seasiders could try their luck again before the window shuts at 11pm tonight, but the midfielder insists he is in no rush to move on.

He said: “My focus is fully on here and that’s all it’s ever been.

“I’m under contract, I absolutely love it here, I love the fans coming to support us like they do.

“I’m happy, so why would I want it to change?

"I don’t look at what people say, to be honest.

"You take the bad with the good. People tweet you this and that but it doesn’t bother me, my job is to help the team and do what I can."

United rejected Blackpool's first offer, understood to be north of £500,000, earlier in the window.

The Championship club then attempted to seal a player plus cash deal involving Jordan Thorniley, who they recalled from a season-long loan with the U's a week ago.

Both offers were significantly under the seven-figure buyout clause in Brannagan's contract.

Blackpool appear to have turned their interest elsewhere, with Peterborough United's Ollie Norburn and AFC Bournemouth youngster Gavin Kilkenny linked with moves to Bloomfield Road.
